Corporate Communications & Content Strategy

St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre (SJLC) & Stedman Community Hospice

At St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre long-term care home and Stedman Community Hospice, I supported communications across two different care environments, each requiring clarity, compassion and a consistent voice. My work focused on strengthening internal culture, deepening family engagement and elevating the organization’s presence in the community through clear, accessible and meaningful communication.

A major part of my role involved helping staff feel connected and informed. I developed and delivered communications strategies for campus-wide initiatives, produced written and visual content for newsletters, memos and social platforms, and supported recognition and cultural events including Pride, National Indigenous History Month, Orange Shirt Day and Staff Appreciation Month. I also helped maintain brand consistency by designing posters, email banners and digital assets, and by updating web content to keep information accurate while the organization prepares for a full system-wide revamp.

Externally, I contributed to St. Joseph’s visibility through storytelling, social media management and media-facing materials. I prepared press releases for major milestones, including the AdvantAge Ontario Award, and supported family engagement through a dedicated newsletter that consistently received strong response from readers. I also led a campus-wide Communications Audit, gathering staff insights, reviewing channel effectiveness and identifying opportunities to improve clarity, connection and strategic alignment across both the home and the hospice.

Between January 2024 and July 2025, SJLC’s Facebook page saw a 16.6% increase in followers, more frequent posting and a 70% jump in interactions, while Stedman Hospice grew its audience and activity as well. The campus LinkedIn account gained 59 followers in 90 days and saw dramatic increases in impressions, reactions and overall engagement. These improvements, combined with clearer messaging and more consistent branding, helped create a more informed, connected and engaged community across the campus of care.
