Capstone: A Strategic Marketing Plan to Reduce Overconsumption in Canada

As part of my capstone project, I led the development of Vert Choice, a mobile app conceptualized by a groupmate and designed to combat clothing overconsumption through gamification and education. Targeting Gen Z consumers in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region, the app empowers users to make sustainable fashion choices in an engaging and interactive way.

Building on the initial idea, I developed the project brief, shaping the app’s concept, design, and presentation, which I styled as an Apple-like product launch to captivate the audience. Additionally, I directed the campaign’s overall strategy, ensuring it effectively communicates the app’s value and connects with our target demographic.

The feedback from our professors highlighted the strength of the project and the impact of our presentation. They described the app as “brilliant” and praised our attention to detail, especially in demonstrating how the app could help our persona monitor her shopping habits and create a more sustainable wardrobe. The professors were impressed by our research, the seamless execution of the presentation, and how well the app’s features aligned with the problem it aimed to solve. They noted that our visuals clearly supported the problem, solution, and desired results.
